Shopping at Phat Cats

◆

A curated shopping destination designed to live beside the ballroom, not compete with it.

Phat Cat's Merchants Wanted
FLAGSHIP STORES • CITY SHOPS • MARKET BOOTHS

Shopping for every style, beside the ballroom.

Phat Cats City Market brings together budget-friendly market booths, full-building shops of different sizes, and several very large flagship stores for major designers and distinctive brands. Our goal is a lively shopping city with excellent creators, interesting finds, and an attractive experience at every price point.

Founding Merchant Invitation — 60 Days Free for the Best

We are selectively inviting the best, management-approved Second Life merchants and designers to establish stores at Phat Cats. Approved founding merchants rent through our normal rental system, pay for the initial 60 days, and receive a full L$ refund of that first 60-day rental payment from Doktur Shepherd. One rental per merchant, as always. Standard rates apply after the first 60 days if the merchant chooses to renew. This offer is by approval only, not automatically available with every market booth or rental.

Our shopping destination is still growing; traffic and sales are not guaranteed. Apply to be considered as a founding merchant.

MERCHANT LEASING GUIDE

Make Phat Cats City Market your next address.

From an affordable market booth to a grand multi-floor flagship, choose a space that fits your brand. The Ballroom, clubs, live entertainment and special events give visitors reasons to explore our growing city. Come build with us early: we are growing our audience, and we do not promise sales or visitor counts.

Spaces to fit your business

Market booths are our lower-cost option for small sellers, gift shops, value-priced merchandise and new creators. Full-building shops come in multiple sizes and land-impact allowances; the building is the rental unit. Very large flagship buildings are available for major collections, showrooms, or management-approved groups of two or more creators sharing a building.

Each property has its own rental rate and land-impact limit. Check the rental box and management for the current price, occupancy and allowances before paying. Rental availability changes.

Explore the city by horse-drawn carriage

Phat Cats City Market already has an automatic, talking horse-drawn carriage tour. Enjoy a narrated ride through our city and discover the atmosphere, streets, and shopping district. It's a charming way for visitors to get acquainted with Phat Cats before browsing the shops or attending an event. As our merchant community grows, the city will have even more to discover.

What we look for in merchants

We welcome gowns and formalwear, fashion for every style and gender, hair, skins, jewelry, shoes, animations and dances, furnishings, décor, gifts and unique finds. We particularly value original creativity, reliable vendors, accurate product descriptions, good customer support and attractive, actively maintained displays. Resold merchandise must be appropriately licensed; no stolen, copybotted or misrepresented content.

Rental information & expectations

Rent, renewals and your space

  • Rent your selected available unit using its existing rental box. Normal pricing and renewal handling remain in effect.
  • One active rental per merchant under the existing policy. Do not use alternate accounts to evade limits.
  • Respect the unit's stated land-impact allowance and the space assigned to you; keep products and signage within approved boundaries.
  • Keep vendors functioning, displays tidy, and access clear; respect neighbors and the city streets.
  • Contact management promptly about rental-box errors, access problems, or a proposed move instead of assuming a payment was applied.

Presentation, conduct and safety

  • Present products honestly and honor relevant Second Life and Linden Lab policies.
  • No harassment, deceptive sales, unauthorized third-party content, intrusive spam, or disruptive high-load scripts and effects.
  • Do not obstruct sidewalks, entrances or neighboring storefronts or change shared exterior architecture without approval.
  • Use tasteful signs and displays appropriate to the surrounding city; request approval for major exterior changes.
  • Management reviews suitability and may request corrections under the applicable rental agreement and published handbook.

Founding Merchant Offer — how the 60 days work

Reserved for exceptional, management-approved merchants. Apply first and obtain approval of your brand and qualifying space. The merchant then pays the first 60 days through the ordinary rental system. Doktur Shepherd personally refunds that qualifying payment in L$. It is not an automatic rental-box discount, is not available to every booth or applicant, and does not repeat on renewal. Continued rental after the initial 60 days is at the normal posted rate. Confirm approval and refund details with management before paying.

Can two or more merchants share one large building?

Yes, with management approval. Shared flagship buildings can feature complementary brands. For now, one primary renter holds and pays the existing rental; co-merchants must be approved and coordinate access and displays with management. Automated co-tenant records and permissions are planned for later and are not yet part of the rental system.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a famous designer?

No. All merchants can inquire about available space. The special 60-day founding incentive is selectively reserved for the strongest approved proposals; affordable market booths remain available for smaller sellers.

Can I rent more than one building?

Our current policy is one rental per merchant. Management-approved co-merchants may share a larger building under a primary renter.

Are sales and event traffic guaranteed?

No. Phat Cats is developing its retail audience. Event participation and promotional opportunities are coordinated separately with management and are not guaranteed rental benefits.

Where do I find the full rules?

Review the public Management, Security & Merchant Handbook and the terms displayed by your rental system. Those govern specific operational terms; contact management before paying if anything is unclear.

Ready to join our city?

Tell us about your brand, your products, and whether you need a booth, standard building, large flagship or shared space. Management can discuss current availability and the right fit.
